2017 Summer @ The Library for Adults

Adults can win fun prizes this summer by participating in the Build a Better World Summer Reading Program.  Attend programs, read books and Build a Cupcake World all @ The Bloomfield Township Public Library.  Here are the awesome events we have planned!

2017 Adult Summer Reading Challenge

Coloring Club for Teens and Adult
Tuesdays, June 27 and July 25 at 1 p.m.
We will provide the pages and crayons. Come and join the fun!  Registration is required.

Off the Beaten Path – Travel Tips with Lynn Portnoy
Wednesday, June 21, 7 – 8 p.m.
Join travel expert Lynn Portnoy as she discusses important travel tips you won’t want to overlook!  Make sure you sign up soon, as this program is expected to fill up fast! Registration is required and begins May 21.

 The Energy of Space with Catherine Hilker
Wednesay, June 28, 2 – 3 p.m.
If you find that your home is lacking a certain special element, Catherine Hilker is here to help! Find out how using color, natural elements, and placement of furnishings and objects can improve the energy in your home. Registration is required and begin May 28.

 Learn About Tai Chi
Tuesday, July 11, 2-3 p.m.
Michigan Tai Chi Association instructor Moses Wu will be here to teach you about Tai Chi. Learn about the history of Tai Chi and how it can help improve your life.  Moses will even teach you a couple basic moves you can implement into your lifestyle. Registration is required and begins June 11.

Author Visit: Black and White Like Me by Tom Daniels and Thomas Marsh
Co-authors of of this book will discuss the parallels of a white man and a black man growing up in Detroit and becoming friends. No registration required.

How to Build a Diversified Investment Portfolio with Rick Bloom
Thursday, July 20 7-8 p.m.
Rick Bloom will help you discover exciting ways to make a fortune. Registration is required and begins June 20.

Build a Cupcake World @ the Library
Saturday, July 29, 2-4 p.m.
BTPL supplies the cupcakes, cakes, frosting and building supplies! Your team of 4 will build a cupcake world to be proud of.  Judges will pick their favorite piece to be the winner of the Cupcake World. Registration is required and begins June 29.

Summer Wrap Up Event

Friday, August 4 from 12-2 p.m.
Turn in your reading challenge forms, enjoy summer refreshments and play quidditch and other games on the library lawn.  No registration required.
