  •  A valid email address
  • Note: all hoopla items accessed via computer are streaming.  Items cannot be downloaded

  • From our main library website, www.btpl.org, hover over the Downloadables section on our menu bar, and select the type of material you wish to download. Then click Hoopla, or go directly to www.hoopladigital.com
Create an account by clicking on Log In at the top of your screen, and clicking the Sign Up button. Creating an account will require you to provide a valid email address, create a password, and provide your Bloomfield Township Library Card number

BROWSE:

  • Click Search at the top of the screen, then type your request next to the icon of a magnifying glass.
  • Browse items using the Browse link at the top of the page. Select the type of item that you are interested in, then explore titles, using categories and filters as desired.
  • Note: you can create a collection of items to borrow at a later date by clicking the Heart Icon within an item, on the top right side of your screen. You have successfully added an item to you Favorites List when the heart appears to be filled in instead of outlined. Access your Favorites list from the My Hoopla dropdown menu at the top left of your screen. Your Favorites list is the second option.

CHECKOUT:

  • Click the Borrow button, found either by hovering over an item or clicking on an item, to instantly check out an item.
  • Click the Play button to open the borrowed item. To access the item later, go to the My Hoopla dropdown menu (you must be logged in using the email address and password that you set up to create you account) and select Currently Borrowed. Click on the title to resume where you left off previously.
    Enjoy!
Borrowed titles will be automatically returned when your lending period is over. The lending period differs for each type of material. There are no holds, wait lists, or late fees for any of hoopla’s content.

SUPPORT:

  • Note: depending on your browser and updates, you may need to install a plug-in called Widevine to play video content. Widevine is a free add-on for your browser that is owned by Google.

If you do not already have Widevine installed when you attempt to play a video title in your web browser, you will see a notification that will direct you to the Widevine website. From there you simply need to click on Install Now and follow the on screen prompts.
