Boys in the Boat
This book in which Joe Rantz and the University of Washington eight man rowing crew journey to 1936 Olympic gold is storytelling at its best. It touches on the Great Depression, boat building, teamwork, the building of the Grand Coulee Dam, coaching, great rivalries, Hitler's Germany and more. If you enjoyed Unbroken or Seabiscuit this should definitely be a book at the top of your reading list. If you like to listen, the audiobook is narrated by Edward Herrmann who does a fantastic job.
