On Demand Video: Virtual Read-Aloud with Emily
H. H. Munro (1870-1916), better known by his pen name “Saki”, was a British writer considered to have perfected the art of the short story. Although Saki’s career included news articles and journalism as well as longer novels, his most famous writings are short fiction stories featuring themes of human absurdity, the struggle between man and nature, and commentaries on English society. “The Interlopers” combines all three of these themes, depicting a long-standing and devastating feud between two rivals who both lay claim to the same forested hunting grounds.
