Library Closings |
The Library will be closed on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 for the Christmas Holiday. The Library will reopen on Thursday, December 26 at 9:30a.m.
The Library will close at 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 and remain close on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 for the New Year's Holiday. The Library will reopon on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 9:30a.m.

Check out the Friends Second Saturday Sale coming up on December 14! These sales are offered each month from 9:30a.m. – 3:30p.m. The first hour is open to members only. Not a Friends member? Memberships are very affordable and available on our website, at the door on the day of the sale or pick up a membership form at the Welcome Desk the next time you visit the Bloomfield Township Public Library.

WHY DO YOU LOVE THE LIBRARY? |
We want to know why you love the library. Do you have a special memory to share? Has a staff member provided you with excellent service? Do you simply love the design and layout of the building? Write down why you love the Bloomfield Township Public Library and submit it on the Share Your Story page of the library’s website, www.btpl.org, email it to communitylinks@btpl.org, or drop it off at the library’s Welcome Desk. Responses will be used in the year-long anniversary celebration at the Library, on the library’s website and social media pages, and in promotional pieces. You will need to fill out a release form before the library can use your story.

All Downton All Day
Between December 26 – January 2 stop by the library and see the entire Season 3 of Downton Abbey, shown at multiple times and multiple dates, before Season 4 kicks off! Check the Library Events calendar for showtimes.
Game Time @ the Library
Teens and adults of all abilities are invited to the library on Friday, December 27 from 2 to 4p.m., to play board games with other patrons. We will provide a wide variety of classic popular board games plus low-vision and memory games from our VITALITY Kits collection which include large print and tactile Rummikubs and Scrabble tiles and more! Registration is not required.
Hunger Games After-Hour Teen and Tween Challenge
On Friday, December 27 from 6:30 to 9:00p.m., compete with other tributes in our Quarter Quell Hunger Games Challenge. The Challenge will include trivia, scavenger hunts, hide and seek, and tag in the Library in the dark. Fun prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will be provided. For ages 11 to 18. Pre-registration is required along with a signed parental permission slip.
Ongoing programs, such as writers’ groups, our Knit ‘n Stitch circle, book clubs, and Coffee and Conversation for seniors are offered every month. For a complete program schedule and more information visit our website.

Iron Chef Bloomfield III
Young chefs are invited to compete in the 3rd annual Iron Chef Bloomfield competition taking place on Saturday, December 7 from 1-2:30p.m.! Using the secret ingredient, contestants will try to make the yummiest food possible for our judges. Do you have what it takes to be the next Iron Chef? For ages 8-13. Registration begins November 13.
4th Wall Theatre Workshop
Friday, December 27 from 1 to 2p.m. (for ages 5-7 years) and 2:30 to 3:30p.m., (for ages 8-12 years), young actors of all abilities are invited to learn the basics of the theatre and participate in theatre games/activities. Kids will learn to sing, dance, and act through interactive music and movement therapy techniques and participate in a performance at the end. This workshop is inclusive of children with special needs. Workshop instructors are from the 4 th Wall Theatre Company ( www.4thwallkids.com). Registration begins December 6.
A Day with Mo Willems
Pigeon, Knuffle Bunny, Elephant & Piggie, Cat the Cat, Leonardo the Monster – Mo Willems has created so many great characters in his books and we want to celebrate them! Kids, ages 4 and up, are invited to join us on Monday, December 30 at 11a.m., for fun stories and activities. Registration begins December 9.

The Library continues to offer a variety of hands-on computer classes, such as Introduction to Power Point and Introduction to Scanning & Photoediting.
