Sleepwalkers / Brian Fallon

Brian Fallon is the former front man of the popular New Jersey rock band The Gaslight Anthem. He embarked on a solo career with his first album Painkillers where he put forth his best impressions of his heaviest influences, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. With his follow up, Sleepwalkers, Fallon explores new ground with the Motown-tinged “If Your Prayers Don’t Get to Heaven” and the soulful “Etta James.” The best tracks on the record though are the ones that pay tribute to “The Boss”, like only Fallon can, such as “See You on the Other Side”, “Neptune”, and my personal favorites “Come Wander with Me” and “My Name is the Night (Color Me Black)”. This is a solid solo outing from an excellent musician.
