The House in the Cerulean Sea offers lessons to learn, romance, whimsical fantasy, humor, quirky characters, and so much more.

Linus Baker leads a quiet life, just him and his cat. As a Case Worker at the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth, he oversees the well-being of children in orphanages so that the orphanages can continue operating and receiving government aid. One day, he receives a summons from Extremely Upper Management where he’s given a super-secret new assignment. He’s to visit a remote island orphanage which houses six dangerous magical children and report back on every single detail.

Linus arrives on the island and meets the children and the children’s caretaker, Arthur Parnassus, who will do anything to protect his wards. As Linus gets to know Arthur and the children, old secrets are exposed and choices have to be made.

While marketed as a book for adults, I’d say that this story would be enjoyable for adults and teens alike.
