Toby has always been lucky, until he wasn’t. He gets himself out of a tough spot at work and after a night of celebrating with his friends, he comes home to surprise two burglars who beat him and leave him for dead. The injuries he sustains leave him struggling, especially with his memory, and feeling like he’ll never be his happy-go-lucky self again. His cousin asks him to move in to help his dying uncle Hugo and the happiness living back at his family’s ancestral home and a sense of purpose in helping his uncle start turning Toby’s luck back around. That is, until a skull is found in the trunk of an elm tree in the garden.
With twists and turns throughout, The Witch Elm is a fascinating psychological thriller. All I’ll say is I was absolutely shocked by the ending. Shayna 12/31/2019View in Catalog
