WEST / Carys Davies

Cyrus Bellman, a widower, is restless. He is intrigued by the possibility that wonders, maybe monsters, roam the Western United States. Common sense dictates that he remain on his Pennsylvania farm and raise his 10 year old daughter, but he feels compelled to follow the route taken by Lewis and Clark and seek out the marvels they may have missed during their expedition. The world he encounters is brutal and beautiful and reminds the reader of the hardships our ancestors endured as they explored our land.     Val 6/5/2019
