We are looking for responsible, community-focused teens, ages 14-18 years old and in high school, that would like to volunteer in the Youth Department this summer. Eligible teens have to either reside in the Bloomfield Township Public Library service area or be enrolled in Bloomfield Hills Public Schools. Teen volunteers will be assisting staff during children’s programs, prepping materials for crafts, updating displays, and many other tasks.
All potential Summer Volunteers should fill out the Teen Volunteer Form for 2023. Click on PDF or Text document to print and fill out at home or you can come in and pick up a form at the Youth or Adult Services desk. All teen volunteers are required to attend a 1 hour orientation where we will go over expectations, how you can schedule your shifts, and verifying your application forms.
We have two orientation dates that you can register for by clicking on the date you would like to attend: Tuesday, May 23, 7-8 p.m. or Saturday, June 3, 10-11 a.m. You are only required to attend ONE of these trainings. If you are unable to attend either or to request accessibility accommodations, please contact the teen volunteer coordinator at askyouth@btpl.org.
