Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ages are allowed to participate?
    • Our reading challenge is for all ages, newborn through adults.
  • My newborn or toddler would like to participate but can’t hold books or read yet.
    • Reading out loud counts, for both the reader and the listener!
  • The registration form is asking for my grade and school but I’m an adult or I’m registering for a child not yet in school.
    • For grade, there are options for “Adult” (at the very bottom) and “Not Yet in School”. For school, choose “None”.
  • Do I have to be a Bloomfield Township Public Library cardholder to participate?
    • No, anyone may participate in the challenge.
  • Do I have to do the Winter Reading Challenge online? Do you have a paper option?
    • The Winter Reading Challenge is only available online through Wandoo Reader. If you need help using Wandoo Reader or require additional accommodation, please let us know.
  • Can I read one book to complete two (or more) challenges?
    • In short, yes.
  • Do I have to do all of the challenges?
    • No, you’re not required to do all of the challenges. Each completed challenge equals one entry into the grand prize drawings. This means that completing one challenge enters you into the drawing and each additional challenge improves your chances of winning. But our Winter Reading Challenge is meant to be fun, not a burden. Don’t stress, just do as many challenges as you’d like.
  • Do I have to do the challenges in order?
    • Absolutely not! Pick and choose the ones that interest or challenge you the most.
  • What are the prizes?
    • Prizes are TBD. We will be drawing grand prizes in three age categories: youth, teen, and adult.
  • What if my question isn’t answered here?
    • Visit the Library, call (248) 642-5800, or email askadult@btpl.org with any further questions.
