Set in Uganda in 1972, two friends must decide how to act around each other when the president, Idi Amin, declares that all Indian people living in the country must leave. Wealthy Asha and her best friend, Yesofu, who is the son of a family that works on Asha’s estate, already have to fight for their treasured friendship because of their status differences—what will happen when one of them is no longer even welcome in the country they love?
