In August of 1961, as the Berlin Wall was constructed, Gerta’s city and her family became divided. Separated from her father and brother Dominic, Gerta, along with her mother and brother Fritz, must live under the strict, unforgiving government of East Berlin. As the years pass, Gerta, Fritz, and their mother must decide if it is worth the risks, including their lives, to reunite with their family and their freedom.
