The Brothers of the Ikkuma Pit have never known anything outside of the volcanic pit where they were discarded when they were born. No Brother exits the pit until his “Leaving Day”, or 16th birthday. When a Brother unexpectedly returns to the pit after years away, trouble follows and several of the Brothers find themselves being forced to leave the Pit before their time. Recommended for readers in grades 6 and up, especially fans of dystopian thrillers like The Maze Runner.
