In the midst of the Vietnam War, eleven Australian schoolgirls become part of their own conflict at home when their teacher disappears during an unplanned field trip. In the days that follow, the girls vow to not tell anyone the whole truth of what they were doing that day at the beach, and who their teacher was last seen with. In reality, they themselves don’t even know the whole truth, and the mystery of their absent teacher remains a part of their lives for many years to come. An interesting psychological mystery for readers in grades 6 and up.
