When a violent creature attacks her underground home/sanctuary, twelve-year-old Eva Nine is forced to flee from the only place she has every known. Aboveground, Eva Nine discovers that the world outside her sanctuary is nothing like the virtual reality scenarios her robot mother exposed her to in preparation for this journey. As she searches for others like her, Eva Nine meets many new and bizarre creatures, some friendly and some downright dangerous. Recommended for fans of science fiction and fantasy, ages 10 and up.
