BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY CELEBRATES NATIONAL FRIENDS OF LIBRARIES WEEK

October 20, 2025

Bloomfield Township Public Library is proud to recognize the Friends of the Bloomfield Township Public Library during the 20th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, observed October 19–25. This nationwide celebration, coordinated by United for Libraries, a division of the American Library Association, honors the dedication and support of Friends groups across the country.

For over 60 years, the Friends of the Bloomfield Township Public Library have believed that every community is better when it has a first-rate library. This dedicated group of volunteers actively supports and promotes the Library by contributing their time, talent, and resources. Through their efforts, the Friends have raised over $1.85 million to enhance programs, collections, and spaces beyond the Library’s operating budget.

“We are grateful to the Friends of the Library for their ongoing commitment and generosity. Their unwavering support helps the Library continue to thrive and grow as a vibrant place for learning, connection, and community,” said Library Director Tera Moon.

Anyone can become part of the Friends of the Bloomfield Library by picking up a membership form at the Welcome Desk, in the Library Shop, at the monthly Second Saturday Sales, or downloading the form from our website. Members enjoy early admission to the Second Saturday Sales, starting at 10 a.m. The Friends can also be supported through tax-deductible donations of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, games, and puzzles.
