2025 Tax Forms and Resources

Adult - What's New | Published January 2, 2026

January 24 update: Federal 1040 instruction booklets have arrived. Federal and state 2025 tax forms are available online and you may request them to be printed at the Adult & Teen Services desk at the library. All AARP Tax Aide appointments at the library have been reserved. Use the AARP locator to find other sites in the area.

Pre-Printed Federal

  • Federal 1040 and 1040-SR instruction booklets are available for pickup at the Adult & Teen Services desk.
  • Federal 1040 and 1040-SR forms have not yet been received at the library. This page will be updated when federal forms 1040 and 1040-SR are available for pickup.

Pre-Printed State

  • State of Michigan forms and instructions have not yet been received at the library. This page will be updated when they are available for pickup.

Print on Demand (Federal & State)

Forms and instructions may be printed upon request: 2025 forms are available online from the IRS and the State of Michigan. Please visit the Adult & Teen Services desk to request that the library print forms and instructions for you, or print them yourself:

Library desk staff cannot answer questions or give advice regarding taxes or tax preparation. If you need help, consider these free resources, staffed by trained tax pros and volunteers:

AARP Tax Aide Help Line

If you are age 60 or older and have a question regarding your taxes, leave a message on the AARP Tax Aide line at 248-592-7418; a volunteer will get back to you.


AARP Tax Aide

As of January 24, all AARP Foundation Tax-Aide in-person appointments at Bloomfield Township Public Library have been reserved. Use the AARP locator tool to find another AARP Tax Aide site in the area (input your ZIP code in the search box on the landing page).

General Information

  • AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are IRS-certified to provide free tax assistance for low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention given to those 60 and older.
  • Federal, state, and local returns will be prepared at your appointment.
  • Take your photo ID/s, Social Security card/s, last year’s tax returns, and all relevant financial documents with you to your appointment.

Free Online Tax Preparation

The IRS offers free online tools to prepare and file your federal tax return.

  • IRS Free File: An online tool that will guide you through filling out your tax return. Only for taxpayers whose adjusted gross income (AGI) is $84,000 or less.
  • IRS Free Fillable Forms: Prepare and file your taxes online; follow IRS instructions and fill out the forms on your own.
