The building reopens Saturday, September 12, at 9:30 a.m., and we’re looking forward to seeing all of you library-goers again! Some things will look different; here’s a preview.
Temporary walls have gone up to separate public spaces from the construction work. One- and two-person booths line the passageway into the library. Magazines for adults and teens line the wall opposite the booths.
All of the Youth Services collection—books, DVDs, everything—has been moved into the area you know as Adult & Teen Services…but now it’s just the Everyone Services area. We can share.
While we’re on the topic of sharing…you’ll find librarians (for youths, adults & teens) and circulation staff at one desk, in the center of the library.
Newspapers, newsletters, and youth magazines are just past this desk.
Fiction, mysteries, and science fiction for adult readers remain in the same place.
New releases and large print are also in the same place.
Nonfiction for adult readers is where it was—in the stacks along the east side of the building. But note the Dewey decimal signs: items may have been shifted as we made room.
Feature DVDs and music CDs have moved—to the middle of nonfiction. Just ask a staff member for help finding what you’re looking for!
Books for teens are in the same place, along with different seating.
The Computer Center is open for business as usual! Study Rooms are available to reserve with your Bloomfield Township Public Library card.
And we’ve arranged seating wherever possible to provide spots to read and study.
