August 27, 2025

Bloomfield Township Public Library is proud to host an evening with New York Times bestselling author Katherine Arden on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. This event will be held offsite at the Bloomfield Hills High School auditorium (4200 Andover Road).

Arden is best known for her spellbinding adult series Winternight Trilogy, which includes The Bear and the NightingaleThe Girl in the Tower, and The Winter of the Witch—a series inspired by Russian folklore. Her most recent novel, The Warm Hands of Ghosts, is a historical ghost story set during World War I. She is also the author of the popular Small Spaces Quartet, a middle-grade horror series, and has written for younger readers with The Strangest Fish, a story about a girl who wins a fish in a contest that turns out to be magical.

“We are delighted to welcome Katherine Arden,” said Laura J. Kraly, Adult and Teen Services Department Head. “Her stories captivate readers of all ages, and we appreciate her remarkable ability to blend folklore, history, and imagination. This is a unique opportunity for our community to connect with one of today’s most celebrated storytellers,” she adds.

Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Schuler Books West Bloomfield.
