Keep the good vibes going this summer: head to the library to get in on hands-on fun at an event, explore your creativity with a kit, and meet the Summer Reading Challenge. Starting June 18, sign up for Summer Reading in Beanstack and you’ll score a free new book of your choice. Then, track your progress to earn rewards and be eligible to win great prizes! Pro tip: Earn double credit when you read and log any book in The Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson, this summer’s Teen Read.

Summer Reading Kickoff with Food Trucks
Thursday, June 18 5:30–7:30 p.m. all ages
Drop in and start your summer of reading and discovery at this all-ages community event! Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, get crafty, play games, and engage in activities. 

Archaeological Escape Room for Tweens and Teens
Friday, June 26, 1–2 p.m., 2:30–3:30 p.m., or 4–5 p.m. ages 11–18
Registration begins May 29; sign up for only one time slot. Unearth clues and work as a team to solve puzzles and find the treasure.

Book Bedazzling
Wednesday, July 1, 6–8 p.m.
Registration begins June 1. Transform a favorite book into a sparkling work of art to give or keep! Bring a book to decorate; craft supplies provided.

Henna Workshop
Monday, July 13, 4–6 p.m.
Registration begins June 13. Find out about the origin and history of henna art and how it has become a global trend. You’ll receive instructions on the technique, a henna cone, and application of a small henna design.

Teen Craft Club
Thursday, July 23, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Drop in. Stop by the library for DIY fun! A variety of crafts will be available or bring your own project. Stay to create or gather supplies to take home. Bring your friends!

Summer Reading Wrap-Up
Friday, August 7, 2–4 p.m. • all ages
Drop in. Outdoor art, games, and activities! The Kona Ice truck will be in the parking lot during the event with cool treats to purchase and enjoy on the terraces.

Create a mini masterpiece on a small canvas! Optional: Lend it to the library for a community display. (You’ll get it back when the display comes down.)

Learn the bubble technique for creating patterns on a variety of paper items.

Upcycled Map Kit

First Monday of each month

Add flavors from around the world to your cooking! Each kit contains a spice sample, information, and recipes.
