Aspiring poet Penny Hope is riddled with anxiety and longs to escape the grip the Fear Maker has over her. Ever since she first encountered this monster on Halloween at age seven, his red-eyes and towering figure have haunted her nightmares. Despite her grandmother’s encouragement to turn her nightmares into poetry, the horrors are no longer confined to her dreams.
Everywhere Penny goes, she notices people with hollow, dark eyes who are no longer themselves, but victims of the Fear Maker. To save her friends and family, Penny must find the courage to face this monster once and for all. With the support of her friends, both real and historical, Penny won’t have to confront her fears alone. But what horrors await Miss Hope as she ventures into the nightmare house? For ages 10 and up.
