One day is just not enough for Halloween, so we’re celebrating all month long! Mark your October calendar for these happenings:

Spooky Movie Night: Beetlejuice (1988) | PG

Dive into Tim Burton’s wonderfully weird world and follow the misadventures of a recently deceased couple who try to reclaim their home with the help of an outrageous “bio-exorcist.”

Michigan Mysteries, Halloween Edition, with Ross Richardson | adults & teens

How many persons aircraft, and ships have there been in Michigan? Dozens? Hundreds? Try thousands! Listen to stories about our state’s most mysterious disappearances and learn how some of these baffling cold cases get solved. *Note: This program contains images and stories about true crime, missing persons, and human remains.

After-Hours Spooky Tales on the Terrace | ages 8–12

Grab a blanket and join us under the Youth Terrace heaters for hot cocoa, snacks, and spooky, shivery tales.

Teen After Hours: The Traitors @ the Library | ages 13–18
Friday, October 25, 6:30–8:30 p.m. • REGISTER

Immerse yourselves in a world of deception, alliances, and murder as you uncover the secret traitors in the group. Snacks and prizes.

Trick or Treat at the Library (with Food Trucks!) | all ages
Tuesday, October 29 • DROP IN
5:30–7:30 p.m. Trick or treat throughout the library
5–8 p.m. Food trucks in the parking lot

Put on your costume and drop in for trick-or-treating. Head to the first stop, in Youth Services, to decorate a treat bag and pick up your first treats. Then follow the map to find each station around the library for treats including peanut-free goodies, mini craft kits, and stickers.

Food trucks will offer food for purchase; enjoy it in the café or on the library’s terraces.
